The Challenge
The sales process for a Valhalla boat was traditional and manual. A customer would sit with a dealer, going through a long, printed list of options and prices. The dealer would tick checkboxes with a pen, and the customer would have to imagine what their final boat would look like. This process was slow, prone to errors, and lacked the immediate visual feedback that modern buyers expect.

This solution required the absolute best team to come together. Klaas Nienhuis Studio asked Jeffrey Moerman from Ionized Media for the frontend development and Frodo Schering for the user interaction and visual design. Klaas Nienhuis Studio took care of the 3D assets and 3D development.
The Solution
We worked with Valhalla Boatworks to completely digitize this workflow. The 3D configurator we built is a direct replacement for the paper checklist, but infinitely more powerful. It contains every single option they offer, from engine packages to upholstery stitching.
Two features stand out:
- Complete Option Catalog: The configurator is the single source of truth, containing all the available options and ensuring customers and dealers see every possibility.
- Real-Time Pricing: As a user adds or changes an option, the total price updates instantly. This complete transparency builds trust and allows customers to design a boat that fits both their dreams and their budget. The final build sheet is accurate and ready for sign-off.
The Result
The Valhalla configurator has fundamentally sped up the sales process at dealerships. What used to be a lengthy meeting filled with paperwork is now an exciting, collaborative design session.
